JAPAN RAIL CLUB is a snack box subscription service with characteristically unique snacks curated by the teams at East Japan Railway Company (JR-EAST), managed by Southeast Asia subsidiary, JR East Business Development SEA Pte. Ltd. (SEABD) based in Singapore.

What does omiyage mean?

Omiyage (お土産) is commonly referred to as a souvenir. However, the term omiyage has a deeper meaning wherein it being a unique gift-giving culture in Japan that is usually presented to co-workers, friends, and family. Gifting omiyage is a long-standing tradition and custom in Japanese society that originated from centuries ago. It is believed to be associated with sacred pilgrimages, when pilgrims would bring back evidence of their pilgrimages to families back home and the gift is often connected to the place that was visited.

One of the places that you can find omiyage is at the train stations! As a major railway company in Japan, while we mainly connect with our passengers via rail travel, we want to share this culture with you to bring you the Japan experience at the comforts of your own home.

What's so special about JAPAN RAIL CLUB's Subscription Box?

Our curated range of snacks are handpicked by JR East staff members who are passionate about introducing the wide and rare variety of snacks from all across Japan. Many of these snacks are not yet available outside of Japan, so by getting your hands onto our snack box, you'll get first dibs to these exciting treats!

Where are your products made?

All our products are curated specially by our teams in JR-EAST. They are directly sourced and shipped directly from Japan.

Are the snacks vegetarian/gluten-free/halal?

Though we would love to cater to various dietary requirements, some of our snacks do contain animal products (e.g. eggs, dairy, nuts, etc.). Please refer to the common allergens for each product listed on our product page.

What is the size of the box?

Our box size is 25 x 25 x 10 cm.

Omiyage Subscription

Are the snacks really from Japan?

Yes! All snacks are made and directly sourced, and thus shipped, from Japan. Each month, you will receive a box of curated snacks—a unique assortment of 8-10 products encompassing a different theme every month. Your box will also come with a printed product booklet explaining each snack in further detail, including its origin and allergen information.

Do I need an account to purchase the box?

Yes, it is recommended to create a free JAPAN RAIL CLUB customer account before you purchase. You can easily manage your subscription, view your shipment details and update your address via the customer dashboard.

When is the cut-off date to order the current box?

You can order the current box any time between the first day of the month to the last day of the month.

How do I change to a different subscription plan from my current plan?

Please contact us at via our Contact Us page should you want to upgrade your subscription plan from your current plan.

Can I skip a box?

Yes. You may choose to skip your next order via your Account's page. Click on "Manage Subscriptions" to go to your subscription dashboard. Please click on "See more details" on your active subscription. Simply click on "Skip Order" and confirm.

How do I cancel my subscription?

We're sad to see you go! 

You can deactivate your subscription at any time via your Account's page. Click on "Manage Subscriptions" to go to your subscription dashboard. Please confirm the subscrirption number that you want to deactivate and click on "Cancel Subscription". You will be prompted to confirm your cancellation. Once completed, your subscription status should change from "Active" to "Closed".

Please note that cancelling your subscription only stops the future renewal billings. It does not however, cancel your ongoing subscriptions.

Can I purchase only one box without subscribing?

Unfortunately, we do not offer a one-time box purchase at this time.

Do you accept corporate / bulk orders?

How far out are the expiry dates of the snacks?

Each snack has varying shelf lives, but most of our snacks have shelf lives of between 60 to 180 days from manufacturing date. [Visit each month's page to find out more.]

Help! I think my snacks are expired!

We are sorry to hear that! We make every effort to ensure that all our snacks have a sufficient shelf life for you to savour and enjoy them. If you suspect that any of your snacks have expired, we would be more than happy to assist you. Please send an email to, including a clear photo of the expiration date on the snack packaging. In some cases, the expiration dates may be indicated on the brochure accompanying the snacks. Our team will promptly review your request and provide the necessary support to address the issue.

Billing And Payment

Can I be billed in a currency other than USD?

At this time, orders are processed in Singapore Dollar (SGD), New Taiwan Dollar (TWD). For countries outside of Singapore and Taiwan, orders are processed in United States Dollar (USD).

How to apply my discount code?

You can enter your discount code at the checkout page. Please ensure that you enter the discount code before you complete your checkout.

Can I use more than one discount code?

Unfortunately, only one discount code may be used per purchase.

Which payment methods can I use?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express credit, or UnionPay, as well as Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay.

When I sign up for a 3, 6 or 12 months plan, is it all charged upfront?

Yes. You will be charged the full amount upfront when you subscribe to 3, 6, or 12 months subscription plan.

When will I be billed?

You will be billed immediately when you complete your first checkout. Your subsequent orders (applies to all subscriptions) will automatically be processed on the 3rd of each month from your original purchase date.

Why is my renewal date moved forward?

Please be informed that JAPAN RAIL CLUB subscription employs a standardised billing cycle, which falls on the 3rd of every month. All recurring payments will be billed on this date.

Will I be charged for VAT, custom taxes, or fees?

Each country has their own laws and regulations when it comes to processing shipments from other countries. If customs charges (fees or tax) do occur, you are 100% responsible for the fees. JAPAN RAIL CLUB does not have control as import taxes are charged by your local government.

Is there a refund / cancellation policy?

All sales are final and items cannot be returned once they have been shipped. Because the snacks we curate are perishable and sometimes have short shelf lives, we do not accept cancellations or returned orders/items at the moment.

In the event that you made a purchase by accident, kindly drop us an email at (with your order number in the subject email, i.e. #1001) and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

My JAPAN RAIL CLUB box is late. Can I cancel or get a refund?

Unfortunately, we do not accept cancellations nor provide refunds at the moment.


Are there any delivery charges?

Shipping is free! (with the exception of Australia, Canada, the US, the UK, and the EU)

Do you ship internationally?

At this time, we ship to Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong SAR, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, Canada, United States (US), United Kingdom (UK), Austria, Belgium, France, Iceland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway and Spain. We are working hard to make our JAPAN RAIL CLUB subscription available to more countries.

Can I receive my box on a specific date?

As all our boxes are shipped directly from Japan and international shipping can be unpredictable, we are not able to guarantee that your box will arrive on a specific date.

What is the estimated delivery time for me to receive my box?

Orders will be processed and shipped out within 1 week of your order submission. You will receive a shipment notification when your box is dispatched out of our warehouse in Tokyo, Japan. It typically takes 1-3 weeks to arrive from the dispatched date but may take up to 4 weeks depending on local customs or postal service delays, if any.

Do you provide tracking information?

Yes. When your box is shipped out of the warehouse, you will receive an email with a tracking number link that you may use to track your package.

My box has not arrived yet!

Our box typically takes 2–3 weeks for the delivery to be completed. If you still have yet to receive your box, please reach out to us at with your order number (i.e. #1001)

My package was marked as delivered, but it's not here!

My JAPAN RAIL CLUB box is damaged or not complete. Can I get a refund?

If your package arrives missing an item, with incorrect items, or with any damage to the items, email within 7 days following the delivery date. Please include your order number and photos of any damage.

I want to change my shipping address. Where do I update it?

For your ongoing subscription, please be sure to update your shipping address via "Manage Subscriptions" in your Accounts page. On your subscriptions dashboard, please click on "See more details" on your active subscription, scroll down to "Product Shipping Info" and click "Edit". Update your address and click "Save".

What are the delivery charges?

Will there be any customs delay that might affect my box’s arrival?

Before ordering, we recommend that you double check any customs regulations that can affect your shipment. This may cause a slight delay for the arrival of your shipment.
