JAPAN RAIL CLUB is a snack box subscription service with characteristically unique snacks curated by the teams at East Japan Railway Company (JR East), and managed by its Southeast Asian subsidiary, JR East Business Development SEA Pte. Ltd. (SEABD), based in Singapore. From savoring your monthly Omiyage Snack Box to exploring travel tips and securing rail passes and attraction tickets, you’ll find everything you need in one place for a seamless and delightful journey through the Land of the Rising Sun.
JAPAN RAIL CLUB is a business managed by JR East Business Development SEA Pte. Ltd. (SEABD), a subsidiary of East Japan Railway Company (JR East) group which is based in Singapore. SEABD focuses on the overseas expansion of JR East’s commercial and lifestyle businesses and real estate development work across the Asia markets.

General

Omiyage (お土産) is commonly referred to as a souvenir. However, the term omiyage has a deeper meaning wherein it being a unique gift-giving culture in Japan that is usually presented to co-workers, friends, and family. Gifting omiyage is a long-standing tradition and custom in Japanese society that originated from centuries ago. It is believed to be associated with sacred pilgrimages, when pilgrims would bring back evidence of their pilgrimages to families back home and the gift is often connected to the place that was visited.

One of the places that you can find omiyage is at the train stations! As a major railway company in Japan, while we mainly connect with our passengers via rail travel, we want to share this culture with you to bring you the Japan experience at the comforts of your own home.
Our curated range of snacks are handpicked by JR East staff members who are passionate about introducing the wide and rare variety of snacks from all across Japan. Many of these snacks are not yet available outside of Japan, so by getting your hands onto our snack box, you’ll get first dibs to these exciting treats!
All our products are curated specially by our teams in JR-EAST. They are directly sourced and shipped directly from Japan.
Though we would love to cater to various dietary requirements, some of our snacks do contain animal products (e.g. eggs, dairy, nuts, etc.). Please refer to the common allergens for each product listed on our product page.
Our box size is 25 x 25 x 10 cm.

You can order the current box any time between the first day of the month to the last day of the month.
Each snack has varying shelf lives, but most of our snacks have shelf lives of between 60 to 180 days from manufacturing date. Visit “This Month’s Theme” page or “Past Themes” page to find out more.
We are sorry to hear that! We make every effort to ensure that all our snacks have a sufficient shelf life for you to savour and enjoy them. If you suspect that any of your snacks have expired, we would be more than happy to assist you. Please send an email to [email protected], including a clear photo of the expiration date on the snack packaging. In some cases, the expiration dates may be indicated on the brochure accompanying the snacks. Our team will promptly review your request and provide the necessary support to address the issue.

To cancel your subscription, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your account and navigate to the My Account page.
  2. Select the Subscriptions option from the menu.
  3. Locate the subscription you want to cancel and click View.
  4. Click the Cancel button.
For 3/6/12-month plans: If you have a prepaid subscription, select Cancel when prepaid ends . Your subscription will remain active until all prepaid boxes have been delivered, after which it will automatically cancel.

Billing & Payment

All sales are final and items cannot be returned once they have been shipped. Because the snacks we curate are perishable and sometimes have short shelf lives, we do not accept cancellations or returned orders/items at the moment.

Unfortunately, we do not accept cancellations nor provide refunds at the moment.
Each country has their own laws and regulations when it comes to processing shipments from other countries. If customs charges (fees or tax) do occur, you are 100% responsible for the fees. JAPAN RAIL CLUB does not have control as import taxes are charged by your local government.
You will be billed immediately when you complete your first checkout. Your subsequent orders (applies to all subscriptions) will automatically be processed on the 3rd of each month from your original purchase date.
Please be informed that JAPAN RAIL CLUB subscription employs a standardised billing cycle, which falls on the 3rd of every month. All recurring payments will be billed on this date.
Yes. You will be charged the full amount upfront when you subscribe to 3, 6, or 12 months subscription plan.
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express credit, or UnionPay, as well as Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay.
Unfortunately, only one discount code may be used per purchase.

At this time, we ship to Australia,Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong SAR, Iceland, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Netherlands, Norway, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, United Kingdom (UK), United States (US) and Vietnam. We are working hard to make our JAPAN RAIL CLUB subscription available to more countries.

As all our boxes are shipped directly from Japan and international shipping can be unpredictable, we are not able to guarantee that your box will arrive on a specific date.
Orders will be processed and shipped out within 1 week of your order submission. You will receive a shipment notification when your box is dispatched out of our warehouse in Tokyo, Japan. It typically takes 1-2 weeks to arrive from the dispatched date but may take up to 3 weeks depending on local customs or postal service delays, if any.
Yes. When your box is shipped out of the warehouse, you will receive an email with a tracking number link that you may use to track your package.
Our box normally takes 2-3 weeks to deliver. Depending on your destination’s local carrier, if no one is present to receive your box at the designated address, you may receive a notification on the steps required for you to pick up or rearrange another delivery with your local post office. If a package remains uncollected for a certain period of time, it will be returned to Japan. If you still haven’t received your package, please contact us at [email protected] with your order number (i.e. #1001).

If your package arrives missing an item, with incorrect items, or with any damage to the items, kindly email [email protected] within 7 days following the delivery date. Please include your order number and photos of any damage.
For updating of shipping address, you may do so by clicking into your “My Accounts Page”. Select the “Update address” function to change your address, and and click ‘Save’.
Before ordering, please double-check any customs regulations that may affect your shipment, which may cause delays and complications to the arrival of your shipment. Every international shipment must go through customs, and this may result in a little delay in the arrival of your shipment. Once your package is cleared by customs, it will be handed over to your local post office. For South Korea: When ordering, kindly remember to provide your PCCC (Personal Customs Clearence Code) to ensure that no further delays is caused to the delivery of your product. For US Shipments: Orders shipped to the US are dispatched via UPS directly from Japan, which typically arrives within 1-2 weeks after dispatch.
The JR EAST PASS (Tohoku area) is a versatile rail pass that grants pass holders unlimited rides on JR East lines, including the Tohoku Shinkansen, selected limited express trains, the Tokyo Monorail, the Narita Express (N’EX), and more, for 5 consecutive days!
All non-Japanese passport holders can purchase the JR EAST PASS, including expatriates and students based in Japan! As long as you have a non-Japanese passport, regardless of visa or residence status, you can use the pass.

The staff will check your details with your passport, and any incorrect information may result in you being unable to collect your JR EAST PASS ticket.

After confirming purchase, the Digital Voucher of the JR EAST PASS will be emailed to you within 3 working days. Just present this Digital Voucher with your passport at any JR EAST Travel Service Center at major JR East stations to receive your JR EAST PASS ticket!

The Digital Voucher for the JR EAST PASS is valid for 90 days from the day you purchase it. You can purchase it at any time within this period!
The Digital Voucher is valid for 90 days from the day you purchase it. Please present it with your passport at any JR EAST Travel Service Center within this period to collect your JR EAST PASS ticket.
The JR EAST PASS ticket is valid for 1 month from the day you collect it, and you can choose to start using it at a later date. Note that the staff may ask you when you plan to start using it. Once you use the ticket, the 5-consecutive day duration of the pass will apply.
