In a recent announcement, GALA Yuzawa Snow Resort has announced that it will remain open until 6 May this year. The ski resort opened for the 2024 season on 20 December last year, and due to the declining snow conditions, the ski slopes will close earlier this year, from 21 April onwards. However, the gondola and Barouche chair lifts will continue to operate until 6 May.

Until 6 May this year, visitors can make their way to GALA Yuzawa Snow Resort and enjoy many exciting outdoor activities, such as riding the Barouche chair lift to the Bell of LOVE 「愛の鐘展望台」 and enjoying the panoramic views of the town of Yuzawa from an altitude of around 1,000 metres, to soaking in one of the many hot spring baths that Yuzawa is famous for.

Did you know? You can reach GALA-Yuzawa Station from Tōkyō Station in as little as 71 minutes via the Jōetsu Shinkansen (上越新幹線), and you can ride it using the JR TOKYO Wide Pass, an affordable pass offering unlimited rail travel on JR East lines (including bullet trains) in the valid area for 3 consecutive days. At only ¥15,000, it is a great option for those planning to travel around the region. You can also make seat reservations for bullet trains, some limited express trains and Joyful Trains online for free, up to 1 month in advance, on the JR-EAST Train Reservation.

The JR TOKYO Wide Pass can be used at the automatic ticket gates, and foreign passport holders living in Japan are also eligible to use this pass.

 The pass also allows users to make full use of participating &EKINAKA facilities, which include GALA Yuzawa Snow Resort and shops at Echigo-Yuzawa Station for some great deals. For GALA Yuzawa Snow Resort, the &EKINAKA benefits apply for the gondola tickets, and from 22 April onwards, the tickets also allow you to ride the Barouche chair lifts for free!
