Kurio Shoten is a specialty store that specialises in making sweets using one of the most famous varieties of sweet potatoes in Japan, "Naruto Kintoki". Also known as the "Queen of Sweet Potatoes", it is a popular limited item that is grown in Naruto City, Tokushima.

This is a Japanese-style baked chocolate sweet, also known as "Yaki", that generously uses carefully selected ingredients such as Naruto Kintoki, Sweet Potato Shochu, and Awa Wasanbon sugar. It creates an exquisite harmony of flavours that gives an elegant flavour and aroma; a great concoction for an adult-flavoured chocolate.

“Blessings of Nature” Strawberry Princess Arare

“自然の恵み” いちご姫あられ

You may wonder, why is this snack called "Strawberry Princess Arare"? This slightly sweet and sour arare is made up from the flesh of Echigo-hime strawberries, which is an original brand of strawberries from Niigata Prefecture.

"Echigo" is the old name for Niigata and "hime" means princess; these strawberries are raised in low temperatures of winter with little sunlight and they boast with rich fragrance and juicy sweetness. After being mashed and seasoned with sugar, these strawberries are then coated with glutinous rice. Sounds like a match made in heaven!
