Experience the magic of train travel and delicious encounters with each bite in our curated Japanese snack box! This month, the spotlight is on all things railway as we commemorate Japan’s Railway Day (鉄道の日 Tetsudo no Hi) on 14 October. Railway Day marks the historic inauguration of Japan’s first passenger railway line, connecting Shimbashi in Tokyo to Yokohama in Kanagawa Prefecture, back on 14 October 1872. Recently, Railway Day is celebrated to honour the development of Japan’s railway advancements and to foster a deeper appreciation for this integral part of everyday life in Japan.
